Abstract Line-implicit preconditioners are well known in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solvers and an essential component to handle meshes with cells of very high aspect ratio (> 1000:1). Such anisotropic commonly used resolve steep gradients the boundary layer a turbulent flow Reynolds number. To date, this technique has rarely been solve other partial differential equations. We show that advantages such do not depend on equation or discretization used, but also apply problems like node-based mesh deformation linear elasticity meshes. influence selection these lines, present new algorithm for identifying lines line-implicit preconditioners. This makes better use parallel processors leads more homogeneous lines. Finally, we see using same preconditioner, line identification algorithm, even faster convergence problem based elasticity.
